The Maze Runner Series

Hi! This is a school novel study review so its different-er than normal! Hope you like it!

Book 1: The Maze Runner

About The Book: Thomas wakes up in a cold, dark box with no memory whatsoever except for his name. The box he’s in is rising up so he doesn’t have time to sort anything out. He finds himself in the Glade a peaceful meadow where nothing can harm them. Oh except for the Grievers bloodthirsty mechanical-biotic spider-like creatures out to kill all the Gladers. Thomas realizes there has to be a way out and so starts the adventure searching for the escape.

My Review: a great kick off start to the maze runner series very emotional. It seemed so real at parts my heart jumped and I could almost see the glade and the maze. The grievers were so very well described that I was scared  by them this book was very well described.

Book 2: The Scorch Trials

About The Book: Now out of the maze and in what WICKED call a sanctuary. Thomas is ready to be done with all the horrors he saw back in the glade. But, alas, fate is not so kind. One night hes sleeping peacefully in his bed and BOOM! Hes awoken by these people that call themselves “cranks” infected with the infamous virus called the Flare, they have past the “Gone” AKA, Crazy-ville and have started trying to get the bugs out of their heads and trying to eat children’s noses. Thomas and the other Gladers must escape and find a new safe place but first they have to walk like, what, 50 miles? Oh and Teresa is missing. When Thomas can hear her, she’s telling him to go away.

My Review: super good! when I first read it I was pretty freaked out by the cranks but I did enjoy it after I learned more about the cranks! I really loved this book in particular because it was an adventure to remember.

Book 3: The Death Cure

About The Book: N/A

My Review: N/A

Book 4: The Kill Order

About The Book: Back in the past when the Flare is just introduced to humanity Mark, Trina and Alec are the only ones who can trust each other. The Flare was introduced as a lethal dart that killed within hours but started slowing down as they run away to find more people who are still alive and not infected with the flare. They come across a little girl no older than five years old she was shot right in the arm with a dart but oddly she’s not showing any signs of the flare. Her name is Deedee and the rest of her town is afraid of her with no place to go she tags along with Mark Alec and Trina. In this book you will see their adventures throughout the wrecked land of earth in search of a cure to the Flare.

My Review: I was very confused at first like “What the heck does this have to do with the maze runner a virus killed some people so what?” Then “OK… its called the flare that makes sense that ties right into the maze runner” then at the end “WHAT?!?! Deedee’s HER?!?!?!”

It’s such a page-turner, I couldn’t put it down. He (Marvin) is brave. In the blood test, I was nervous. He… was brave!
